The multi-faceted regeneration of Oldham Borough is underpinned by the key objectives of improving services, community cohesion, economic regeneration, quality of life, and establishing Oldham as a key town within the region.

To help achieve these aims the council established Unity Partnership, an innovative joint venture partnership between Mouchel, Agilisys and Oldham Council. Founded in May 2007 and employing more than 400 professionals, Unity delivers property, highways & engineering, ICT, and customer and exchequer services.

The best of private and public sector skills now create an ambitious and socially aware organisation working as one, as the name implies, across a range of partners and clients to:

• Kick-start widespread regeneration

• Transform the way public services are delivered to the citizens of Oldham

• Boost the local economy by achieving sustainable growth to create new jobs and opportunities

• Work towards community cohesion

The partnership will also bring estimated benefits to the local economy in the region of £190m and aims to kick-start widespread regeneration plans by helping the council to deliver vital services.

Unity will work with local businesses and public sector clients to develop Oldham’s economy, drawing on the expertise of wider partners to support regeneration through investment, process improvement and ongoing skills development.

Unity will also create opportunities for staff to develop and for career progression, encouraging colleagues to take part in the development of the enterprise and to make the company a place where people enjoy working.

As a multi-disciplinary regeneration company working across a portfolio of sectors including construction, education, leisure, public buildings, engineering, transportation, information technology, customer and exchequer services, Unity is in an ideal position to contribute towards Oldham’s future prosperity.
