Information and Communications Technology (ICT) overview
The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is responsible for providing a wide range of IS/IT, Printing and Communications services to all Departments of the Council, Members and indirectly the public of Oldham.
The services provided include the acquisition, development, implementation and support of:
- Software,
- Hardware,
- Data & Voice communications;
- Consultation and project management related to this provision; and
- High-speed Printing.
The objective is to provide a cost effective and timely service, which will underpin the Information Systems/Information Technology (IS/IT), Communications Requirements (voice & data) and Document Printing requirements of the Council, its Elected Members and Departments. In addition, to ensure that ICT staff are aware of new developments and strategic technological trends in order to provide good quality advice; improve service provision; identify cost effective solutions and improve investment decision-making.
