We have a strong commitment to supporting the communities in which we work and strive to improve the well-being of our customers and the local community.
Supporting young people
We provide a wide range of work experience opportunities to young people each year, giving them the opportunity to develop skills and behaviours needed to succeed in the workplace.
We also provide apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of service areas to help young people gain entry level opportunities into the workplace and have seen a significant amount of our young apprentices progress further in their careers within our company.
For more information on either of these, please contact Unity Communications
Primary Engineer programme
The Primary Engineer programme aims to develop the skills and confidence of teachers to provide young children with a better understanding of STEM careers. The programme links our engineers with local schools in order for them to help and advise staff on any queries and questions about a career as an Engineer.

As a business we provide over 500 volunteering hours per year, enabling us to deliver an added value to the community in which we work. The programme provides our staff with the opportunity to give something back to the local community, whilst allowing them to learn new skills and gain valuable experience.
Supporting local charities
Every year we support a local charity chosen by our employees. We are currently supporting Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for adults with non-curable, life-limiting illnesses in a peaceful and homely environment. For more information, please visit their website.
So far this year we have held several raffles, taken part in local sporting events, held bake sales and organised a curry lunch club.
We’ve raised over £15,000 for local charities over the last ten years.
